Money Power Glory – Lana Del Rey
The song “Money Power Glory” should be playing when Jeanine, the leader of the erudite faction, captures Tris. This is because Jeanie wants to execute Tris and other divergents for her own benefits. Jeanie was the one administer the attack on the abnegation in the first book, to rid the world of the divergents to improve their community. “I want money and all your power, all your glory Alleluia, I wanna take you for all that you got Alleluia, I'm gonna take them for all that they got” relates to the character Jeanine because she taking everything from these people for her own benefits and not thinking of the consequences. “Freedom comes from the call” compares to this character because she is only allowing people who fall in a certain category survive.

Blame Me – The Pretty Reckless

The song  “Blame Me” should be played when  Tris admits to killing Will during the attack. This is because even though it was in self defense she feels terrible about it. She is also scared of what her friends will think of her once they realize what she had done.  The lyrics “I have lost a friend I hope, how the story goes Blame all your life on me” connect to how Tris feels about what she did and how others will respond to it. Once she does come clean and tells  others she realizes that they begin to treat her diffrently and she loses most of her friends for a while. “She looks at me as if she doesn’t recognize me for a few seconds, then turns away.” Said Tris. This shows how she is resented by her friends .

Nobody Asked Me – Sky Ferreira
o “Nobody Asked Me” connects to when Tris is feeling like her voice/ opinion don’t really matter. During a majority of the book tris is considered to be on the outside and is not truly treated like she is capable of doing what everyone else is.  “Shaking your head, I tried to explain You said you dont want it and you can take it Just tryin to get my point across You take care if Im feeling lost.” – “Nobody asked me” this quote support how Tris was feeling. “Little girl ,he called me. A little girl who is stressed out to the point of paranoia.” Said Tris.  This quote supports my answer because it shows how others look down upon Tris and don’t treat her like an adult.

Power and Control- Marina and the Diamonds
“Power and Control” connects to the part when the factions attack each other. This is because in Insurgent  both sides realize that there is no way to bring everyone together again now and a war is inevitable. The lyrics from the song “Power and Control” say, “You can’t have peace without a war.” This relates to how they don’t want to fight but know that it is the only way to have peace again. “That was only the beginning” said Tris. This shows how even though no one wants to hurt anyone they will in order to have peace again.
Crystalised – The xx
o “Crystalised” connects to the part in Insurgent when Tris is alone because she admitted to killing Will, thinking she was doing the right thing. This is because she is trying to let everyone know and realize how sorry she is, but ends up losing everyone instead. The lyrics from “ Crystalised” show how Tris was
feeling throughout this time, “So don't think that I'm pushing you away When you're the one that I've kept closest” This relates to how she was feeling during this time because everyone thought that she was closing herself to them but she was actually only close with them. “Everything has spilled out of me” said Tris. This demonstrates just some of the emotions she had after.
